(Likely line ups subject to change before the match).

Arsenal have Sagna back but Adebayor is out for three weeks, Walcott, Eboue and Gallas could be in contention to face United on Saturday. Fabregas may be rested so Wenger is likely to play a 4-3-3 to shore up in midfield.

Fenerbahce have Alex out but the dangerous Deivid is back amongst the ranks. The Brazilian will have to take up the creative mantle as Alex is out injured while Guiza will play high up the pitch looking to unsettle the so far unconvincing Arsenal defense.

“Vela is one of the answers,” said Wenger at Tuesday’s press conference. “Carlos is an outstanding striker, he will be a top goal-scorer and is one of the best finishers I have seen. “He is 19 years old and playing at a top, top club. We don’t believe that he needs to improve his finishing or his technical quality, we just need him to adapt to the combative side of the English side of the game. He is responding very well at the moment and it will give him something more and make him a top-class striker.”

Prediction: 2-1

  1. I took Fabregas out because if Wenger is to rest surely Fabregas should be N0.1 as he has played so much. 4-5-1 is likely but because of the personnel we have it will be that instead of a 4-3-3. I would like to see Nasri play centre, behind the striker in a 4-3-3 but maybe another day when we have Walcott back.

  2. Why would Wenger go 4-5-1 when we are at home against a seemingly shit defence. I’ld go for a reliable 4-4-2 :

    Fabianski
    Sagna JD Silvestre/Toure Clichy(c)
    Wilshere Diaby Ramsey Nasri
    Vela Nik

We need to try new players and combos because most of our usual starters are out. Gallas, Theo, Ade etc….
