Arsenal 0-0 Fenerbahce: Player Ratings and Stats

A distinctly average Arsenal side failed to brake down the Fenerbahce defense at Emirates. Van Persie had the best chances hitting the bar and another deflected over in a better first half. The second was less inspirational as the movement was poor as Fenerbahce parked their defense in front of the box.

Lukasz Fabianski (7): Didn’t have a great deal to do but looked composed and comfortable.

Kolo Toure (8)*: A strong and determined display once again from the stand in skipper. Looked to break the shackles with his driving runs but a wall of yellow shirts stood in his way. Was good also defensively.

Johan Djourou (7): A steady performance bringing stability to the back four. Good on the floor and air and broke forward at times though over-enthusiastic at times. Booked

Mikael Silvestre (7): Was good in the air and was a far made a far more telling partnership with Djourou though one must say were weak opponents creatively. Subbed (83) > Song

Gael Clichy (7): Strong in the tackle and comfortable on the ball, making a few good burst down the left. Never let Kazim have any chance but could offer more with his crosses.

Samir Nasri (6): Got a lot of the ball but didn’t trouble enough. Cut in too much on the left and miss controlled a good chance.

Denilson (7): Good performance in front of the defense once again as he cleared up in front of him and also made some good tackles.

Cesc Fabregas (7): Once again got a lot of the ball but a sea of yellow shirts blocked his way. Must be frustrated at what is in front of him concerning the Arsenal attack though a few more long shots would be suffice. Played higher up the field.

Aaron Ramsey (6): Started lively but then faded as playing in his less preferred position showed as he looked for the ball more. Subbed (59) > Vela

Nicklas Bendtner (5): A poor performance from the Dane who is flattering to decieve at the moment. His passing and link up play is not yet up to scratch and has problems when opponents get tight. Subbed (59) > Diaby

Robin Van Persie (7): Missed two great chances, hitting the bar and another blocked however was the most dangerous attacking player for Arsenal. Booked

Abou Diaby (5): (On for Bendtner 59) Played on the left when he came on but didn’t offer much creatively.

Carlos Vela (5): (On for Ramsey 59) Looked lively at first then as the game was looking for a goal resorted to playing high up  and waiting for the ball like everyone else.

Alexandre Song (6): (On for Silvestre 83) Came on for the injured Silvestre at centre back and slotted in quietly.
