Tactics Talk: Bischoff is set to make his first senior appearance for Arsenal as Bendtner is ommited from the squad after the game against Manchester United, while the other ten arelikely to remain the same team as against Sheffield United. This means Randall will play as the deep playmaker similar to Alonso, providing he doesn’t feel any of the injury which ruled him out of the last reserve game while Bischoff will play behind the striker Vela. Merida and Wilshere occupy the wings with Gibbs and Hoyte behind them respectively.

This game will likely be the sternest test these youngsters have so faced in their career as Wigan are a physical side and will look to stop the midfielders from playing their passing game. It will be interesting to see if they can stand up to the physical test as the young guns look to push for a first team spot.

Ones to watch: Fran Merida– The Spaniard was over shadowed in the last game against Sheffield United by Vela’s hat-trick but Merida provided an influential performance by playing some intelligent passes. His speed on the ball and the quickness of his thinking will come to the test, not to mention the physical nature. Over taken by Ramsey for a first team spot so will look to show his worth.

Amaury Bischoff– Will probably play 45 minutes or so but the Portugese man is one of the oldest players in the line up. Impressed in the reserves win against Fulham with a brilliant goal and will get his chance behind the striker in his favoured position.

Jack Wilshere– Tipped for great things but his recent performances have been slightly below of what is ecpected of him but is still a great prospect. Comfortable and composed on the ball, Wilshere likes to cut in from the right and provide assists with his left.

Prediction: Arsenal 2-1 Wigan Athletic
