Tactics Talk: Dynamo Kyiv will see this as an opportunity to win rather than look for a draw like most sides would away from home as Arsenal enter the game with a depleted squad. They will be wary of Arsenal’s threat so will likely start as a 4-5-1with a compact midifeld but can switch to 4-4-2 if required, looking to hit Arsenal on the break especially through Ismael Bangoura’s pace. Aliyev produced a man on the match performance last time out and his long range shooting and arriving from deep will be a danger.
Arsenal as mentioned have many injuries in Cesc Fabregas’ first match as captain and the line up shown is subject to change to a 4-5-1 or a wide man may come in but a draw could be enough for Arsenal to progress. It will be intereesting to see how Fabregas performs under the added burden if any of captaincy while some players need to impress such as Denilson, Bendtner and Song. Ramsey will play wide but his tendency to drift in may reduce options when Arsenal attack. Wilshere, Merida and/or Vela may come in to contention should width be needed.
